Full 4-Bedroom House (Complete Plaster Overhaul & Micro-Crack Repair)
SCOPE
Introduction
A home with a solid structural foundation can still lose its charm over time if the internal walls become worn and dated. We were commissioned to execute a complete interior transformation for a spacious 4-bedroom family home in Ringwood. Before our arrival, the entire living environment felt remarkably dim and tired, requiring a highly strategic aesthetic intervention to make the spaces feel as warm and welcoming as the family living inside them.
The Main Challenge
Older or settling properties naturally develop hundreds of hairline cracks across both walls and high-span ceilings over the years. In this expansive open-plan layout, the plasterboard joints on the ceiling had suffered visible separation. The primary challenge was twofold: we had to trace, track, and re-skim every single micro-crack across a massive surface area to guarantee a smooth substrate. Secondly, because the home featured large architectural windows and delicate timber elements, executing this heavy plaster sanding required a 100% airtight plastic masking protection system to eliminate airborne dust infiltration.
The Golden Deco Solution
We dedicated the first several days of this 12-day project strictly to asset protection and plaster restoration, which we consider the most vital stage of a high-end finish. As documented in our on-site tracking, we completely wrapped all walls, brick fireplaces, and kitchen cabinets in heavy-duty commercial plastic sheeting and lined the floors comprehensively. Next, our team raked out the hairline cracks, applied premium fiberglass mesh tape where required, and executed precise grid-style plaster skimming across the entire ceiling structure. For the final coating, we applied a solid undercoat followed by two coats of premium Dulux warm white paint. To maintain premium flexibility for Melbourne homeowners, we also offer these complex interior overhauls using architectural lines from trusted brands like Taubmans and Haymes.
The Final Result
Handed over cleanly after 12 days of intensive labor, the home underwent a breathtaking optical metamorphosis. The application of the Dulux warm white system acted like switching on a powerful internal light, instantly expanding the visual boundaries of the large living zones. Every wall surface cured to a gym-smooth, uniform finish entirely free of historical cracks. Our stickiness for the small stuff—ultra-sharp cutting-in lines and meticulous protection—ensured a crisp, high-end finished feeling. The client, Wafa Ismael, awarded us a five-star review, praising our exceptional quality, value, and trade professionalism. It stands as a brilliant case study of how professional plastering repair ensures a flawless interior painting result.

Frequently Asked Questions
The extended timeline was due to our uncompromised preparation phase. The home suffered from extensive hairline cracks and plasterboard joint separation. Spending days on thorough airtight masking and multi-stage plaster skimming is the real difference between a standard paint job and a premium finish.
We never just paint over cracks. We carefully rake them out, fill them with premium trade plaster compounds, apply structural reinforcing tapes where necessary, and mechanically sand them to a perfectly flush, smooth base.
We utilized premium Dulux paint formulated in a beautiful, light-reflective warm white tone. This choice instantly bounces light across the open-plan layout, erasing old shadows and giving the house a fresh, spacious energy.
