Introduction
The front door is the focal point of any home’s exterior. For this property in Taylors Hill, the entryway needed a professional finish. The project involved a brand-new, freshly installed timber door and frame that were completely raw and unpainted, requiring a full preparation process before any color could be applied.
The Main Challenge
Painting raw timber demands rigorous technical preparation. As seen in our process photos, the raw timber frame had exposed seams and nail holes. The challenge was to completely seal, fill, and weatherproof these bare materials to prevent the timber from absorbing moisture and cracking over time.
The Golden Deco Solution
We executed a comprehensive 3-coat system using premium Taubmans paint. After applying wood filler and flexible caulking to ensure a perfectly smooth and watertight foundation, we started with a strong undercoat. For the two final topcoats, we used a custom dual-color approach based on the client’s vision: the exterior was painted in the highly popular and sleek “Monument Black” to create a bold entrance, while the interior side was painted a custom shade to perfectly match the home’s internal walls.
