Introduction

The Main Challenge

New concrete is highly porous; skipping the proper preparation steps inevitably leads to peeling and moisture damage down the track. Additionally, the height of the commercial building required the use of elevated work platforms (scissor lifts) to safely and evenly apply the coating systems to the upper sections.

First, we applied a heavy-duty concrete sealer to control absorption—this explains why the walls appeared dark and wet in our initial process photos.
