Introduction
Commercial underground parking facilities endure constant vehicle emissions, high traffic, and structural wear. For this extensive commercial project in Richmond, Golden Deco was hired to completely repaint two large, separate car park facilities totaling over 910 square meters (a 480 sqm site and a 430 sqm facility). One of the locations featured a complex metal ceiling structure, while the other consisted of a solid, unfinished concrete ceiling.
The Main Challenge
Operating in heavy commercial underground environments demands strict safety protocols and specialized application methods. The primary challenge was the scale and variation of the surfaces; concrete is highly porous and absorbs paint rapidly, whereas the corrugated metal ceiling required a corrosion-resistant coating system to prevent future rusting. Furthermore, executing a flawless finish across a massive combined area within 9 days required a high-efficiency execution plan to minimize disruption to commercial tenants.
The Golden Deco Solution
To achieve a perfectly smooth and consistent finish across the vast ceiling structures, our team utilized high-pressure commercial airless spray painting. We began with intensive surface preparation, followed by a high-adhesion specialized primer coat. For the topcoats, we applied two premium layers of durable commercial finishes. While premium Dulux commercial lines were utilized, we consistently offer rugged, high-reflectivity alternatives from trusted brands like Taubmans and Haymes to match specific corporate budgets. In the final stage, we switched to precision manual brush and mini-roller applications to coat the complex overhead utility pipes in high-visibility safety red.
